 Wellness:

I can demonstrate positive social behaviours and understand other perspectives in order to develop and maintain healthy relationships

In grade six this week, we spent time learning about the importance of kindness, respect, team work, and empathy. We read Trudy Ludwig's The Power of One: Every Act of Kindness Counts, and shared ideas about how we could create a culture of kindness in our grade six year.

Students spent time working on a variety of tasks designed to reflect on individual strengths, areas for growth, and unique traits. By celebrating one another's individuality, students had the opportunity to see varying perspectives and build empathy for their classmates and teachers.

We are looking forward to sharing our Kindness Quilt art project at the entrance of our classroom when you come for Meet the Teacher Interviews on September 21 and 22nd.

Come on in...Wrap yourself in our Kindness Quilt

Heart Maps are an artistic way we can show the things that
are important to each of us

Each student created a piece of writing about kindness. This was an opportunity to exercise their writing skills as well as share their understanding of the concept of building a kind community.
